  2. This is the hilltop town of Marvão, Portalegre, in east central Portugal near the border with Spain.

Took some finding, by web searching – and now I’ve found it, I wouldn’t mind visiting it. 8)

  6. Fun one! Unlike the last, I recognized this one right away, just had a devil of a time finding it in Google Earth. It’s near Mt. Sunday – the location for the city of Edoras in the LOTR movies. It’s west of Methven on the South Island of New Zealand. I think I found the hill at 43.32′.59″/170.53′.57″, but for some reason (even with 3D buildings layer enabled) I can’t get the buildings to show up…

  8. Marvao, Alentejo, Portugal.

This is Pan…this one was hard for me too. I do not have Google Earth. I have to rely on geography skills and other clues to make my guesses.
